Performer Series at Ballet Mackenzie Show in 1989 (Chalk Pastel and Vaseline)

I did this series of drawings after Brock inspired by women magazines spring article on 10 ways to get your body to bikini shape.   Being an athlete and fitness guru I find these articles amusing and this series is poking fun at these articles to sell magazines to women.

Some of these drawings were in my show at the Ballet MacKenzie Gallery in St. Catherines in 1989 along with my drawings from the Charting/Memory series of portraits.

Javelin Thrower (Chalk Pastel and Vaseline)

I did this drawing after Brock from a photo of myself throwing the javelin at the Buffalo Belles meet with the Oshawa Track and Field club.   I liked the water tower in the background.

A Portrait in the Making (Oil)

After Brock I stared to explore self portrait like Van Go and the other great masters but mine were 3 X 5 inches.   As I was painting this little paintings I would document the process by letting it dry and making a colour copy of that stage of the painting.  I used this documentation to create a wall size installation that was exhibited at the Hamilton Artists Inc.  I now can use these copies as a teaching tool.  Each painting is $75.00.
