Figurative

I was modeling for Brian Smith's class where he had me pose like Marcel Duchamp's Nude Descending the Staircase demonstrating to his students how you can abstract the figure. I got very inspired and during my break doodled in my 3X5 sketch book a small drawing of his painting on the wall in his studio of Tanya in Red Robe. I liked the way I was drawing the figure leaving parts out and decided to take it further into a painting of abstracting the figure which may become a new series.  Model draws from other artists drawing of models.  Its been a year now sketching in my little book and its helped me to develop a new visual language with my lines and this painting is the second to try out my sketching free hand then paint!
