Port Dalhousie Carousel - Sandy Horse (Oil)
In 1990 I was approached by the City of St. Catharines through the St. Catharines Art Association to organize a painting project to repaint the Port Dalhousie Carousel. I called in my friend Pat to help organize the project with her daughter Jill creating a video of our project. I painted about 5 animals including the Lion. The Lakeside Park Carousel in Port Dalhousie is a Charles Looff original, carved between 1898 and 1905 in Brooklyn, New York. The carousel came to St. Catharines in 1921, from its earlier home in Hanlan?s Point, Scarborough Beach in Toronto. It was purchased to be a part of the amusement park flourishing in Port Dalhousie, and was one of 58 attractions in the park. The Lakeside Park Carousel has 68 animals, in 4 rows.

At Rest And Play (Oil)
My friends and insurance broker from ?Hunter, Wilson & Kelly Ltd.? commissioned me to do a painting of their two dogs from their photos. I created a composition of two pictures one that had the dogs by the pool side and another which had the dogs lying on the couch but I used my artistic license and made it look like they were resting by the pool side. Later Patty Kelly advised me that she had a small four year old visitor ask her where the other two dogs were!

Kelsey (Conti)
I was commissioned by a beginner artist to do this portrait of this 12 year old girl who died from sudden death of cardio myopathy as gift for the girl?s mother. I had to use the photo from the paper which I enlarged. The client was very satisfied with the conti results. This was my first drawing with conti since graduating from Brock in 1989.
